The most common issue is that a relay inside the control module goes bad and must be replaced. The relay originally fitted is no longer available, however I have sourced a replacement that is stronger and much better made. Bad news is that the last manufacturer has discontinued them, the good news is that I have a lot in stock.
Do you hear your ABS pump running continually, or feel the brake pedal vibrating? A component in your ABS module has failed, causing the pump to run. First, Remove the Fuse that provides power to your ABS system. That will protect your ABS Pump from damage. Then call me - I can fix it for you!
On some vehicles, this module is mounted under the hood, above the engine, making it easy to remove and replace.
On some vehicles, the pump and module are mounted to a rail beneath the drives side door. If this describes your vehicle, I recommend you take it to a repair shop to have them remove it for you.
In both instances, it should not be necessary to disconnect the brake lines and remove the pump. There are 4 x Torx 20 screws holding it on. CAREFULLY remove them, and the module should lift off. CAREFULLY disconnect the three electrical plugs.
I have to take yours back to my shop, repair it overnight, and deliver it back to you next day. The repaired unit needs to be clamped for 8 hours to allow the sealant to cure before reinstallation. Your vehicle can be driven without this module in place, but BE AWARE your ABS system will not function.
