The 2015 through 2018 model year GMC Yukons are experiencing a high level of tail & brake light failures. The red elements fail to light with the headlights on, and do not brighten with your foot on the brakes. You will not see a warning about this on your instrument cluster, your first realization usually coming when a police officer pulls you over for a failed light, or a friendly neighbor tells you.
GMC extended the factory warranty for 2015 and 2016 model year Yukons to 6 years from date of entry to service (usually purchase date) or 72,000 miles, whichever comes first. If your vehicle met BOTH of these limitations, GMC would replace the failed unit. This warranty has expired and is no longer available from GMC.
I have a stock of repaired OEM units, both drivers and passenger side. I can either swap one of mine for your failed unit, or repair yours. Your choice. My units have been repaired and tested. They never have cracked lenses, but might have small cosmetic scratches.
I have a stock of repaired OEM units, both drivers and passenger side. I come to you, test and inspect your lights. Provided the lens is not cracked or heavily scratched, I exchange my repaired unit for yours. If your tail light is cracked or badly scratched, or has been previously repaired by the "YouTube" method, there will be a "core" charge as your unit will not be suitable for repair and resale to my next customer.
There are tail light assemblies available on Amazon that look the part, and are inexpensive. Please keep in mind "you get what you pay for".... and when these fail, I will not accept them as "cores".
I warranty all repaired tail lights for 12 months or 12,000 miles against electrical failure and moisture seepage.
